Google doodle celebrates the opening day of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023

The Google Doodle for today honours the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023’s opening day. The flagship event’s 13th edition since starting in 1975 will be held in India this year. Ten national teams will fight for the first place trophy.

The group stage will consist of 45 matches, with each side playing every other team once. Teams from South Africa, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka will also be playing this year. There will be only four clubs that advance to the knockout stage, which entails two semi-final games and one cup final in Ahmedabad.

In India, the tournament will be played in stadiums located in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Dharamsala, and Pune.

The opening game is scheduled for today at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium between the defending winners England and the runner-up, New Zealand. All the best to the teams!
