Which AI chatbot is better : Google Bard or ChatGPT?

In 2023, two of the most well-known artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots are Google Bard and ChatGPT. Which is better, though? Utilizing machine learning and millions of data points, both provide responses in natural language to natural language inputs. Generally speaking Although these AI tools aren’t perfect yet, they point to exciting AI assistant search and learning tools that will make information even more accessible in the future.

Despite their similarities, these chatbots also differ significantly. The comparison of ChatGPT and Google Bard is shown in the following table.

ChatGPT or Google Bard, which is superior?

At the time of writing, you can only use Google Bard if you are a member of a select group of early beta testers, making this a difficult question to answer. As for its rivals, you can use ChatGPT right now for nothing. If you don’t want to be on a waitlist, there is a paid-for Plus version that gives people who want a more comprehensive tool the option to pay for the privilege.

Nevertheless, when Google Bard becomes more widely available, it ought to present ChatGPT with a credible rival. Google Bard employs Google’s internal LaMDA (Language Model for Dialogue Applications), whereas ChatGPT employs an older GPT-3 language model. Both utilize natural language models. Google Bard’s responses to questions are based on data that is more recent, whereas ChatGPT is primarily trained using data that was available prior to 2021. The operation of Microsoft’s Bing Chat is comparable to this.

Until they have a chance to play with Google Bard for ourselves, they won’t be able to say which AI chatbot is superior, but it looks like a close contest when it is more readily available.

Are ChatGPT and Google Bard currently available?

There are two pricing options for ChatGPT: free and paid. Even though the free version requires you to wait in line for a while, anyone can experiment with its features.

Google Bard is not yet available to the general public and is only available to a small number of beta testers.

What distinguishes ChatGPT from Google Bard?

The natural language artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots ChatGPT and Google Bard share a lot of similarities, but they also have some differences and are made to be used in slightly different ways, at least for the time being. Even though it has encountered a few issues with accuracy and plagiarism, ChatGPT has also demonstrated an impressive ability to write creatively, which has caused a lot of consternation among white collar workers like writers, SEO advisors, and copy editors. Although it has been used for answering direct questions with direct answers, most of the time, ChatGPT has been accurate.

Nonetheless, Microsoft has incorporated ChatGPT into its Bing search engine to provide users with the ability to directly ask the search engine questions rather than searching for keyword phrases in order to obtain the most effective results. It has also integrated it into its Teams communications tool, and a limited version of it is coming to the Edge browser. Additionally, Opera has promised to include ChatGPT in the future.

Although its primary purpose is to improve Google’s own search tool, Google Bard will also serve as an automated support tool for businesses that lack the resources to employ human support staff. A trained AI responder will provide it to customers. Soon, it will probably be incorporated into the Chrome browser and other Chromium-based applications. In the future, it is also anticipated that Google will make Google Bard available to third-party developers.

Google Bard employs Google’s LaMDA language model while ChatGPT employs its own GPT3 model behind the scenes. Google Bard is also built on data provided in recent years, whereas ChatGPT is based on slightly older data, restricted in its current GPT3 model to data collected prior to 2022. However, just because Google Bard has had issues with incorrect responses to questions since its initial release does not necessarily mean that it is more accurate.

While Google Bard lacks a built-in plagiarism checker, ChatGPT does have creative applications that Google Bard does not yet have.
