Top Players to Watch in the NCAA Women’s Final Four

The Final Four hosts UConn, Iowa, South Carolina and North Carolina State, all of which have some of the best players in the country and WNBA prospects. This year’s Final Four should be a great show of skill and growth in the women’s game.

Here are some key players to know ahead of the NCAA Final Four and her NCAA Championship.

1. Caitlin Clark of Iowa Women’s Basketball

Clark is the biggest name in college basketball this year, and rightly so. Earlier this year, she broke Stephen Curry’s NCAA all-time scoring and 3-point records. Clark is the No. 1 pick by every WNBA draft committee in the nation.

2. Aaliyah Edwards of UConn Women`s Basketball

Edwards had a career year at UConn, averaging 17 points and shooting 59% from the field.

This puts Edwards in the top 15 in the NCAA in field goal percentage. Paired with Paige Bueckers, Edwards could have a breakout performance in the NCAA Tournament. She is a solid first-round pick and could be a lottery pick for the WNBA draft committee.

3. Paige Bookers of University Women’s Basketball

Bookers was passionate about the Huskies in this year’s March Madness, and in the game against the Huskies she had 28 points and 10 rebounds. Top-seeded USC.UConn missed the Final Four last season when Buccaneer was sidelined with an ACL injury. Since then, the Buccaneers have found their stride again this postseason, proving that she is still one of the best players in the country.

Bueckers was the No. 1 recruit in the 2020 high school rankings, ahead of Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese and Cameron Brink.

Just one month ago, the Buccaneers announced he would be returning to UConn for another season. Before deciding, she was ranked in the top three on all her WNBA mock draft boards.

4. Kamilla Cardoso Of South Carolina Women`s Basketball

Cardoso is a 6-foot-7 professional center who leads the undefeated Gamecocks this season. She leads the team with an average of 14 points and six rebounds per game.

She has already drawn similar comparisons to Brittney Greiner and Aliyah Boston regarding her size and physicality. Cardoso is a sure-fire first-round pick by the WNBA draft committee and a potential lottery pick.

5. Kate Martin of Iowa State Women’s Basketball

Martin shot right behind Caitlin Clark, who shot just 38 percent from long range this season. Martin averaged 13.1 points and 6.8 rebounds for the Hawkeyes.

In the last game against LSU, Martin recorded his 21 points, shooting 50% from the field.

Martin will continue to play a key role this postseason, as his ability to knock down shots provides space for Clark and others.
