Top 10 Highest Paying Careers Led by Women in 2024

On March 8, everyone celebrate International Women’s Day, a time to recognize the achievements made by women in the workforce and to focus on the path ahead that will lead to actual gender equality and equality.

It appears from a recent report that there will also be positive news soon. Using data from the Women Bureau and the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor, Resume Genius released their 2024 Highest Paying, Women-Led Careers Report. The top ten highest-paying jobs where women outnumber males are compiled in this research. Top incomes for women are found in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) areas, including healthcare. The top ten highest-paying jobs for women in 2024 are shown below, along with information on median salary, proportion of women in the workforce, projected job growth, and educational requirements, based on the Resume Genius analysis.

Anesthetist nurse

$181,130 is the median annual salary. The percentage of women represented: 52.8%. Projected rise in jobs (2022–2022): 38%. Requirements for education: RN licensure, graduate-level nurse anesthesia program, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing

Pharmacist

$125,627 is the median annual salary. The percentage of women represented: 57.8%. Projected growth in jobs (2022–2022): 3%. Educational requirements: a scientific bachelor’s degree, a Pharm.D., and state licensure.

Nurse Practitioner

Median annual salary: $111,213. Female rate: 86.5%. Estimated employment growth rate (2022-2032): 38%. Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Registered Nurse (RN) License, Master’s Degree in Nursing Practice (MSN), or Doctor of Science Degree (DNP).

Physician Assistant

Median Annual Salary: $110,004. Female rate: 64.1%. Estimated employment growth rate (2022-2032): 27%. Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in related field, Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies, Physician Assistant National Certification Examination (PANCE) certification.
