Singer Rihanna reportedly found love in India and got paid a lot of money.
The musician, who built his own billion dollar empire as a musician and businessman, paid an appearance fee to perform at the pre-wedding festivities of Anant, the youngest son of Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani. He reportedly paid more than $6 million. According to Forbes, Ambani is the richest person in Asia and the ninth richest person in the world.
Social media users posted a video of the Barbadian singer playing some of her biggest hits in front of a large audience, including “Pour It Up” and “B—h Better Have My Money.”
The guest list for the multi-day party in Jamnagar, India, included about 1,200 people.
Rihanna’s arrival is significant as 36-year-old Rihanna has largely stayed away from her music industry for the past decade.
Her last studio album Anti was released in 2016 and ahead of her halftime show at the 1st Super Bowl in 2023, Rihanna has been on stage since 2018. She did not perform live.
In 2022, she released the song “Lift Me Up” as part of the soundtrack for the superhero film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Rihanna wasn’t the only billionaire in attendance, Ambani also invited META CEO Mark Zuckerberg and former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates to the event. Ivanka Trump and Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan were also in attendance.
Anant, 28, is set to marry her long-time girlfriend Radhika Merchant, 29, in July. She is the daughter of Viren Merchant, who is her CEO of Encore Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. and entrepreneur Shaila Merchant.
