Fran Garcia has returned to Real Madrid as the club’s first summer signing, the LaLiga club announced on Friday.
After spending three seasons with Rayo Vallecano, the Spanish full-back has signed a contract that will keep him with Los Blancos until June 2027.
Madrid made the following statement: “Real Madrid C. F. and Rayo Vallecano have agreed the transfer of the player Fran Garcia, who will be with the club for the next four seasons.”
Madrid paid €5 million to acquire Garcia’s complete sporting rights, which represented 50% of Madrid’s ownership.
Garcia got through Madrid’s childhood positions and showed up for the Spanish monsters during the 2018-19 season prior to being conveyed borrowed to Rayo in 2020.
Garcia joined Rayo permanently in July 2021 after assisting with the club’s LaLiga promotion.
Garcia made 38 appearances last season to help Rayo finish 11th in LaLiga.
Borussia Dortmund made the announcement earlier this week that they had reached an agreement with Real Madrid to bring England midfielder Jude Bellingham to the Bernabeu.
