Pan American Games in 2023: Full schedule and How to watch live boxing

With 30 Olympic Games Paris 2024 quotas up for grabs at the Pan American Games boxing tournament in Santiago, Chile, from October 19–27, expect a competitive performance.

130 boxers will compete at the Centre de Entrenamiento Olmpico in seven weight divisions for men and six for women.

Cuba, which is the second-most successful boxing nation in Olympic history, will challenge for every men’s weight division gold medal.

Watch out for Olympic gold medalists Arlen Lopez (light heavyweight), Roniel Iglesias (welterweight), and Julio César la Cruz (heavyweight) in particular.

Rahim “Robby” Gonzales, a men’s light heavyweight, will lead the USA squad in Santiago, where they now lead the all-time Olympic rankings.

The 2021 global champion and Las Vegas fighter took first place in the 2023 Gee Bee International Tournament and won the 2023 Strandja International Tournament.

Watch out for Team USA’s lone Olympian, women’s middleweight Naomi Graham, who is attempting to win back-to-back gold medals at these Pan American Games.

In the women’s lightweight division, Brazil’s Beatriz Ferreira, who won the world titles in 2019 and 2023 and earned Olympic silver in Tokyo in 2020, will be a serious contender.

Her countryman Wanderson de Oliveira, who won the men’s light heavyweight title in 2023 and won the bronze medal that year, appears to have improved his consistency in addition to his thrilling defensive approach.

Ingrit Valencia, a seasoned Colombian who has won two world medals and an Olympic bronze medal, will attempt to retain her women’s flyweight title.

Tammara Thibeault, a Canadian middleweight and the world champion in 2022, will try to reestablish her dominance in the division.
