The invitations for a unique Microsoft Event that will be held on September 21 in New York City were just sent out by Microsoft. The business hasn’t given any additional information, but I anticipate new Surface PCs and a greater focus on AI capabilities for Windows and Surface devices.
When it comes to AI, this year has been an important one for Microsoft. Bing Chat was the first to go live in February, and then an onslaught of “AI copilots” for nearly all Microsoft services followed. Microsoft most recently revealed Windows Copilot, which will be included in the Windows 11 2023 Update and available this autumn.
Additionally, Microsoft has been developing new AI features and capabilities, some of which may need dedicated NPU or VPU hardware to operate. Among some of the new Surface PCs I expect to see introduced, this will be a key highlight.
Regarding hardware, according to my sources, the key features should be a new Surface Laptop Studio 2, Surface Laptop Go 3, and Surface Go 4. On September 21, we’ll be covering the event live and bringing you the breaking news right here on Windows Central.
