Kaley Cuoco’s Max Drama “The Flight Attendant” Will Not Return For Season 3

There won’t be a third season of Flight Attendant. Originally slated to be a limited series, the show ran on Max for two seasons, the second of which concluded in May 2022.

The change comes after executive producer and star Kaley Cuoco said that the “plane had landed” following the conclusion of the second season. She said to People at the time, “I just kind of feel like we just ended.”

The first season of the show, which debuted in November 2020, followed Cuoco’s travelling, inebriated flight attendant Cassie Bowden as she got involved in an espionage collaborating after having an affair with a first-class passenger who was killed the next day.

In the second season, Bowden made a sober return to Los Angeles and began working part-time as a CIA asset. However, she is caught up in another global mystery when she accidentally observes a murder while on an assignment overseas.

Based on the novel of the same name by Chris Bohjalian, The Flight Attendant also stars Rosie Perez, Gryphon Matthews, Deniz Akdeniz, and Zosia Mamet.

Along with T.R. Knight, Yasha Jackson, Audrey Grace Marshall, Alanna Ubach, Cheryl Hines, Jessie Ennis, Mae Martin, Margaret Cho, Santiago Cabrera, Sharon Stone, and Shohreh Aghdashloo, the series also included Mo McRae, Callie Hernandez, and JJ Soria as series regulars.

Showrunner Steve Yockey, who served as executive producer, co-showrunner Natalie Chaidez, and together they produced The Flight Attendant. Executive producers were Cuoco, Sarah Schechter, David Madden, Suzanne McCormack, and Silver Tree in addition to Greg Berlanti. Producer Bonnie Munoz was joined by co-executive producer Jess Meyer.

Producers of the show are Norman Productions, Berlanti Productions, Warner Bros. Television, and Cuoco’s Yes.

Cuoco said, “What started out as an attention-grabbing book cover quickly evolved into an extraordinary flight of a lifetime. I always envisioned TFA as a limited series and thanks to an incredible creative team, we were able to deliver two thrilling seasons. Personally, playing Cassie has been a dream come true and I am so grateful for everyone who played a part in bringing this extremely original series to life.”

Yockey added, “The Flight Attendant was a true passion project and the reception from viewers and critics alike was pretty stunning. Our unorthodox spectacle of a show really found people. As we all move on to new projects, those two seasons of television and the incredible team of professionals behind them will always stay at the top of my list.”
