India’s Yash Raj Films releases the first teaser from spy universe film “Tiger 3,” starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif

The first trailer from “Tiger 3,” featuring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, has been released by Yash Raj Films in India.

The movie is the most recent installment in producer Aditya Chopra’s spy universe and was directed by Maneesh Sharma (“Band Baaja Baaraat”).

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Tiger franchise, which began with “Ek Tha Tiger” (2012) and “Tiger Zinda Hai” (2017), and continued with “War” (2019), starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, is considered the beginning of the espionage genre. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s “Pathaan,” which debuted in January and has grossed $130 million worldwide, is the biggest Indian hit of the year. Together, the four films have made about $300 million.

Kaif plays Zoya Humaini from Pakistan’s ISI, and Salman Khan plays Avinash Singh Rathore, also known as Tiger, who works for the Indian intelligence agency RAW. Roshan plays renegade RAW agent Kabir Dhaliwal in “War,” and Shroff plays Khalid Rahmani, Dhaliwal’s protege. Shah Rukh Khan portrays exiled RAW spy Pathaan in “Pathaan,” while Padukone plays ISI agent Rubina Mohsin.

Colonel Sunil Luthra (Ashutosh Rana), who made his cinematic debut in “War” and is anticipated to return in “Tiger 3,” also makes an extended cameo appearance in “Pathaan” and appears in the movie with Tiger.

At the end of “Pathaan,” Tiger and Pathaan consider possible replacements without naming any names and decide they will have to carry on alone because children cannot be trusted with the responsibility of saving the country.

The movie “Tiger vs. Pathaan,” which is scheduled to begin principal photography in January 2024, will star Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. NTR Jr., who starred in the Oscar- and Golden Globe-winning film “RRR,” will co-star in “War 2,” one of the upcoming installments in the spy series, alongside Hrithik Roshan.

It is expected that over 50% of Yash Raj thrillers’ forthcoming theatrical slate will be made up of spy universe.

In “Tiger 3,” Tiger is in peril after being identified as the main antagonist, and he embarks on a mission that could cost him his life to find his assailants. Tiger will stop at nothing to cleanse his name for his family, his country, and himself.

“Tiger 3” is scheduled for release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu over the Diwali holiday period.
