How to Watch the NBA Online Without Cable on MLK Day

The NBA honours Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy on MLK Day by hosting a schedule of games that advance activism and equality. There are eleven games scheduled for this year, with four NBA games scheduled to air nationally on Monday, January 15.

MLK Day kicks off with the Houston Rockets taking on the Philadelphia 76ers at Wells Fargo Centre in Philadelphia with game time at 1:00 p.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT on NBA TV.

The Golden State Warriors take on the Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum in Memphis beginning at 6:00 p.m. ET/3:00 p.m. PT, while the San Antonio Spurs face the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena in Atlanta at 3:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT.

Thanks to the B/R Sports hub on Max, which offers access to NBA on TNT for $9.99 a month, both games are concurrently livestreamed on Max and broadcast on TNT.

The last game of MLK Day sees the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Los Angeles Lakers playing at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles with tipoff at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT on NBA TV.

Furthermore, subscribers to cord-cutting service can watch NBA TV and TNT games on any live TV streaming service, such as DirecTV Stream.

With pricing starting at $84.99 per month, DirecTV Stream delivers NBA TV and TNT with their “Choice” package and above. The service also offers more than 105 channels, including AMC, Bravo, CNBC, Disney Channel, ESPN, FX, HGTV, Nickelodeon, TBS, and many more. Packages also include local sports networks in the interim.

The streamer is offering a complimentary 5-day trial, which is more than enough time to watch the NBA for free online on MLK Day. After the free trial expires, you have the option to continue using the service or cancel it.

Max is a stand-alone streaming service, but if you already have Amazon Prime, you can add Max to Prime Video for an extra $9.99 a month.

Not connected with us? Take advantage of everything that Amazon Prime has to offer by signing up for a 30-day free trial. Benefits include access to Prime Video, quick same-, next-, or two-day free shipping with Prime Delivery, in-store savings at Whole Foods Market, and access to special shopping events like Prime Day and Black Friday.

Live coverage of the NBA on MLK Day games will begin at 1:00 p.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT on NBA TV and TNT. However, since DirecTV Stream includes NBA TV and TV in addition to regional sports networks like Bally Sports, MSG Network, YES Network, and others, it’s the greatest option to watch the game online without cable.
