Taylor Swift Breaks Guinness World Record With ‘New Heights’ Podcast Interview

Taylor Swift is setting new milestones and increasing the amount of people listening to her podcasts.

According to Guinness World Records, Swift’s latest and first podcast appearance on “New Heights,” which was hosted by boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce, set a new record for the most concurrent views for a YouTube podcast on Tuesday.

When the podcast went live on YouTube on August 13, 1.3 million individuals concurrently listened, according to the world record counter. The podcast episode had received 20 million views on YouTube as of Tuesday.

Swifties were nourished by the two-hour podcast, which included details about Swift’s romantic relationship with Travis Kelce and the drama behind the scenes as she reclaimed her master recordings. The “Eras Tour,” Swift’s well-known Easter eggs, and Jason Kelce’s cat phobia were among the other topics of discussion.

Swift also talked about baking sourdough, one of her current pastimes, and an incident that sent her into a frenzy on the field during the 2024 AFC championship game.

Swift’s announcement of “The Life of a Showgirl,” her 12th studio album (TS12), which is due out on October 3, was arguably the most thrilling.

Swift teased fans with mysterious social media posts in the days before the podcast, first revealing that she would be talking about her most recent release and then announcing her surprise visit with the Kelce brothers.

Swift fans had to wait almost two days to see the album cover, learn that Swift would be joined on the last song by fellow pop diva Sabrina Carpenter, and receive any other album information.

“This album was about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during [the Eras] tour, which was so super and electric and vibrant,” Swift said on the podcast. “I’m so proud of it, and it just comes from, like, the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life. And so, that effervescence has come through on this record, and like, as you said, bangers.”

Swift has revealed several album “variants,” which are limited editions with different covers than the original, since the podcast appearance. However, she pledged that these 12 songs are the only ones and that no further surprises will be released.
