Google Fi Launches Budget-Friendly Unlimited Plan at $35

Google Fi has rolled out a new Unlimited Essentials plan, priced at $35 per month for a single line, making it the most affordable unlimited option in its lineup. The plan includes unlimited talk, text, and 30GB of high-speed data, catering to users who want core features at a lower price point.

In addition, Google Fi is rebranding its Simply Unlimited plan as Unlimited Standard. While the price remains unchanged at $50 per month, users will now benefit from an increased 50GB high-speed data cap (up from 35GB) and a fivefold boost in hotspot data — rising from 5GB to 25GB.

The premium tier, now called Unlimited Premium (previously Unlimited Plus), continues at $65 per month, but sees its high-speed data doubled to 100GB. However, unlimited hotspot usage is being replaced with a 50GB high-speed tethering cap.

Google Fi is also making device connectivity more seamless by allowing users to link secondary tablets or laptops via a data-only eSIM, eliminating the need for a physical SIM card. This move supports eSIM-ready devices like the latest iPad Air and iPad Pro.

Google Fi is making it easier to connect secondary devices with a new eSIM setup. Users can now add a tablet or laptop to their plan at no additional cost by visiting fi.google.com/account from their phone, selecting Manage plan, and tapping Connect your tablet. Google will then generate a QR code for you to scan on your device to activate eSIM connectivity.

In addition to better device integration, Google Fi is introducing broader international 5G support. Both iPhones and Android devices on the Unlimited Premium and Flexible plans will now be able to access 5G in over 92 countries, significantly enhancing global connectivity for frequent travelers.

Another quality-of-life update is on the way: users will soon be able to listen to voicemails directly from the Phone app, eliminating the need to use the separate Fi app — a change expected to roll out in the coming weeks.
