Is Season 5 of Emily in Paris now airing?
Season 5 production was completed in late August, according to a post by Lily Collins. As Deadline had previously reported, Season 5 production started in April 2025.
According to Netflix, filming has started in Rome. Following Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding, Mayor Luca Zaia of Venice revealed on social media that a shoot would take place in August.
Who makes up Emily in Paris Season 5’s cast?
In the first season of the show, Lily Collins plays Emily Cooper, the title character and marketing guru. She relocated from Chicago to Paris, partly on a whim and partly because she had always wanted to work there. As she discovered new friends, family, and most significantly, romance in the city of love, the choice altered the trajectory of her life and career.
Will Gabriel return for Emily in Paris Season 5?
In Season 5, Lucas Bravo will reprise his role as Chef Gabriel.
The French actor, who has been in the show since the first season, stated that his character has lost its appeal for him with the release of Season 4 Part 2, even if it is hard to envision the show without Chef Gabriel.
The “sexy chef” was a big part of me in Season 1, and because of the decisions he makes and the path they force him to pursue, we drifted away season after season. In an interview with Indie Wire, Bravo remarked, “I’ve never been so far away from him.”
In contrast to earlier seasons where he felt more in tune with the part, he revealed that he felt Gabriel was “being manipulated by everyone,” which made working on the program less thrilling for him.
“It kind of became not fun for me to shoot or to see a character I love so much and brought me so much, being slowly turned into guacamole. I really grew apart from him,” he said.
Who else is returning for Emily in Paris Season 5?
The fifth season of Darren Star’s soap opera series will see the return of series regulars Collins, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie Grateau), Ashley Park (Mindy Chen), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), and William Abadie (Antoine Lambert).
Emily’s new love interest in Rome, Eugenio Franceschini, will also make a comeback.
Lucien Laviscount, who plays Emily’s romantic interest Alfie on the program, will return as a series regular for the fifth season, according to an exclusive report from Deadline.
“I don’t even know if I can say I’m coming back yet. I don’t know what the deal is. All I do know is that, I spoke to Darren, and they’ve got some really exciting plans for the new season,” Laviscount told Deadline I’m not sure where it’s gonna go. I spoke to him last month. I was in Milan. We went for dinner in Milan, and he’s really excited about what’s gonna happen the next season. I think it’s gonna flip things on its head, which is cool.”
Season 5 will see Thalia Besson return as Genevieve.
Camille Razat, who has been Gabriel’s intermittent girlfriend since Season 1 of the show, is not listed as a returning cast member. Razat posted on Instagram to discuss her resignation.
Michèle Laroque (Better Days) and Bryan Greenberg (Suits LA) have joined Season 5 as Sylvie’s longtime friend Yvette and Jake, an American residing in Paris. According to Variety, Minnie Driver will also introduce Princess Jane’s new look in Season 5.
Season 5 will see the return of Arnaud Binard as Sylvie’s husband Laurent G. and Paul Forman’s Nico.
Giorgio Barbieri, the designer for Rupert Everett, will not be making a comeback after making an appearance in a Season 4 episode. According to Everett, he was let go from the show.
What happened in Emily in Paris Season 4?
The possibilities for the next episode of the fashion-focused Netflix tentpole are endless, especially because Season 4 was divided into two halves, with the first portion focusing on Emily’s romance with Gabriel and the second part on her spark with a new love interest who brought her to Italy.
The aborted wedding of Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Camille (Camille Razat) and Camille’s news that she was expecting Gabriel’s child left some loose ends in Season 4 Part 1. Benoît (Kevin Dias), Étienne (Jin Xuan Mao), and Mindy (Ashley Park) were working hard to participate at Eurovision for Benoît’s original song, “Mon Soleil,” which he created for Mindy, while Emily and Alfie called it quits.
Mindy continued to date Nicolas de Leon (Paul Forman), but Sylvie Grateau (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) destroyed Nicolas’ father’s enterprise by helping to uncover long-standing accusations against Mr. De Leon.
Despite their attempts at romance, Emily was unable to see past Gabriel’s desire to be engaged in his child’s life. Until Camille disclosed that her pregnancy was a fake, that is. After a delightfully enigmatic masquerade event, the star-crossed lovers tried their hand at it for real, but their relationship soon ran into other issues.
In Part 2 of Season 4, Emily found herself in Rome after meeting Marcello Muratori (Eugenio Francheschini), the heir to a luxury wool company, at one of Nicolas’ polo matches. She ignited a romance with him in the eternal city. Sylvie, who has roots in photography classes there, attempted to convince Emily to bring the Muratoris on board as clients for Agence Grateau. However, Emily made it clear that her primary reason for visiting Marcello in Rome was not work-related. After they managed to balance her professional and romantic lives, it turned out they could both work and be together. The Season 4 finale hinted that Emily would be spending more time in Rome as the head of the Italian Agence Grateau office.
In contrast to the final scene where Emily is taken away by Marcello on a Vespa while Gracie Abrams’ “Close To You” plays, Gabriel and Alfie share a moment where Alfie urges Gabriel to fight for Emily.
“I think Gabriel realized that he doesn’t want to let Emily go so easily, and he might have made a big mistake. They certainly had a big fight and a cooling off period. But I think he realized that by the end of the season, that there’s something that he doesn’t want to let Emily go. I don’t know what that means. Doesn’t necessarily mean they’re going to be together instantly or ever. I don’t know, but I think he feels there’s unfinished business with the two of them.”
Will Season 5 of Emily in Paris take place entirely in Rome?
As per creator Darren Star, the season will not be completely set in Rome.
“She didn’t change her Instagram handle to Emily in Rome. She is working in Rome sometimes. Sylvie’s company has an office in Rome. Emily’s getting that on its feet,” he told Deadline at the end of Season 4. “I don’t necessarily think that it means a permanent — in my mind, it’s definitely not a permanent — move to Rome. We’re not leaving Paris.”
Is there a trailer available for Season 5 of Emily in Paris?
Yes, Netflix unveiled a teaser trailer in October, featuring several new images in anticipation of the show’s debut in December. While Lucien Laviscount and Lucas Bravo are not seen in the clip, Marcello makes an appearance.
