Star Search has back to identify a new generation of talent.

The classic competition series has returned for another season, this time on Netflix. Comedian and Black-ish star Anthony Anderson hosts the new Star Search, which features celebrity judges Jelly Roll, Chrissy Teigen, and Sarah Michelle Gellar — but, as Teigen says in the teaser, “The most important judge is you.”

The revamped Star Search will allow fans to vote in real time during episodes via their TV remotes or the Netflix app.

“The live voting feature is a total game changer,” Anderson told Tudum. “Knowing that fans from all over the world may vote in real time adds an entirely new level of excitement and participation to the mix. It’s as if we’re all part of the show and have the opportunity to be judges.”

So, as the broadcast talent competition returns, here is the episode release schedule for Netflix’s Star Search.

When will Star Search premiere?

The resurrection of the legendary talent competition series debuted on January 20.

“Each episode will spotlight the best up-and-coming performers across numerous categories — music, dance, variety, comedy, magic and juniors — as they compete head to head for their shot at stardom,” according to the show’s official description.

From 1983 until 1995, Star Search served as a launchpad for future celebrities such as Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Dave Chappelle, Rosie O’Donnell, Adam Sandler, and many others.

After its initial run, the series reappeared for a brief period from 2003 to 2004.

“The range of talent we’re going to see is going to blow you away,” Anderson said of the new Netflix version. “And I can’t wait for audiences to experience all the performances, surprises and sheer excitement that this new era of Star Search will deliver.”

How many episodes will the new Star Search include?

Netflix’s Star Search will last five weeks and feature nine episodes.

According to executive producer Jesse Collins, viewers will meet contestants in the first two episodes.

“At episode 9, that’ll be our final four, and then that’s when the world has to decide who the winner is,” Collins explained to Gold Derby.

What is the Star Search episode schedule?

Netflix’s Star Search will run for five weeks, with two additional live episodes added each week until the final week. The episodes will premiere on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the conclusion on February 17.

When do new episodes of Star Search come out?

Star Search airs new episodes on Netflix every Tuesday and Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET.

Viewers will be able to vote in real time during episodes by either their TV remote or the Netflix app. According to Netflix, voting will take place “multiple times per episode.”

Netflix’s Star Search is a reworking, but it will pay respect to the original series, Collins told Gold Derby.

“We got to make it feel fresh and contemporary for today and then figure out somewhere between a nod and an Easter egg for the original version,” the producer’s wife said.
