The Men’s College World Series has only been reached by four regional No. 4 seeds since the NCAA DI baseball tournament was extended to 64 teams in 1999. Murray State has advanced to the final eight the most recently.
How each No. 4 seed got to Omaha is examined in more detail below:
Murray State (2025)
Murray State (44-15) advanced to the super regionals by defeating Georgia Tech and No. 10 Ole Miss in the first two games of their postseason run. After losing to Duke 7–4 in Game 1, the Racers blew up a 19–9 victory and defeated the Blue Devils 5–4 in the final.
