So, what’s the story behind the 2008 champs?

The Bulldogs (47-31) went the distance to win the 2008 Men’s College World Series, putting together the greatest No. 4 regional seed season ever. They won the Long Beach regional by defeating San Diego in Game 7 after defeating regional host Long Beach State to start the tournament. Fresno State dominated the winner’s bracket in Omaha after defeating No. 3 national seed Arizona State in the super regionals. The team won its opening two games against No. 2 national seed North Carolina and No. 6 national seed Rice.
