WWE Star Naomi Relinquishes Women’s World Title After Pregnancy Reveal

Naomi’s reign as champion has come to an end.

The Women’s World Champion declared at Monday Night Raw’s August 18 edition that she will be relinquishing the belt since she is expecting her first child.

She made the announcement alongside her husband, Jimmy Uso, as a preview at Stephanie McMahon’s “What’s Your Story?” podcast.

”I’m pregnant and I’m having a baby,” Naomi said.

Naomi’s statement comes one week after she was set to defend her championship against Iyo Sky on Aug. 11, but the match was canceled the day before because the champion was not medically cleared.

The declaration is similar to the way Becky Lynch relinquished her title. She informed Money in the Bank champion Asuka in May 2020 that, despite not winning a championship opportunity, she had won the Raw Women’s Championship because Lynch was expecting. In one of the cutest moments in recent memory, Asuka and the supporters watching were taken aback by the revelation.

Jimmy Uso, another WWE star, is the spouse of Naomi, whose true name is Trinity Fatu. Over the years, she has expressed her desire to have children with her husband and is the stepmother to Uso’s two children.

Naomi’s reign comes to an end at 35 days when she gives up the title, pausing the experienced star’s brilliant year. During her feud with Jade Cargill, Naomi’s supporters had been supporting her as she took on a ruthless, nasty attitude. Naomi won the women’s Money in the Bank match in June after losing to her at WrestleMania 41 in April. The following month at Evolution, she took advantage of her chance to win the title by cashing her contract in the thrilling main event match between Sky and Rhea Ripley and taking home her second WWE title.

She successfully defended her title against Sky and Ripley at SummerSlam on August 3, which was her final match.

When Naomi can or will return to wrestling is uncertain. Although the length of her pregnancy was not disclosed, it might be comparable to Lynch’s 15-month absence.
