Three weeks ago, sixty-four women’s college soccer teams set out to compete in the Women’s College Cup and earn a national championship.
There are now just four programs left in that field.
The four teams competing for the national championship trophy are No. 1 seed Stanford, No. 2 seeds TCU and Duke, and No. 3 seed Florida State. The Women’s College Cup begins on Friday, Dec. 5 at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City.
Stanford overcame No. 2 seed Michigan State 5-1 in the quarterfinals to go to the national semifinals; No. 2 Duke upset No. 3 seed Kansas 2-0; No. 2 TCU defeated North Carolina on penalty kicks; and No. 3 Florida State easily defeated Ohio State 4-1.
On Monday, December 8, the winners of the two national semifinal matches will move on to the national championship game.
