The 2025–26 college football bowl season is in full swing as teams across the FBS compete in more than 40 postseason games, including the expanded College Football Playoff. With matchups taking place from mid-December through early January, fans are tracking not just individual outcomes but how each conference stacks up in bowl performance.
As the bowl season progresses, early results show varying levels of success among conferences. The Big Ten has already opened with a win to its credit, as Washington defeated Boise State in the LA Bowl, giving the conference a perfect 1-0 record so far. Meanwhile, the Sun Belt has recorded multiple victories, including Old Dominion’s 24-10 triumph over South Florida in the Cure Bowl, helping the league sit at 1-2 in bowl play.
Other leagues such as the American, ACC, Big 12, MAC, PAC-12, SEC, Independents, and Conference USA have teams still competing, with their overall bowl records continuing to evolve as more games are played later in December and into January.
Individual bowl game results are already influencing conference standings. In the Gasparilla Bowl, NC State delivered the ACC a solid win with a 31-7 victory over Memphis, highlighting strong play from the Wolfpack. Western Michigan’s dominant 41-6 performance over Kennesaw State in the Myrtle Beach Bowl further bolstered the MAC’s profile during this postseason.
As the schedule progresses, conferences with multiple bowl entrants will have more opportunities to improve their postseason records. Fans and analysts alike will be watching closely as traditional power leagues such as the SEC and Big 12 look to gain momentum, while Group of Five conferences aim to build postseason credibility.
It’s bowl season for college football. We’re keeping track on every game in the 12-team College Football Playoff and dozens more bowl games to see which league has the greatest bowl record.
Throughout the bowl season, this article will be updated. The conference representatives are bolded.
NOTE: Because the CFP permits teams to participate in multiple bowl games, some conferences have more bowl games listed than bowl teams.
