The 2026 National Collegiate Skiing Championships will be held at Utah Olympic Park (Alpine) and the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center (Nordic) in Park City/Midway, Utah, from March 11 to 14. Utah will host the championships.
Montana State planned to hold the tournament at Bridger Bowl Ski Area (Alpine) and Crosscut Mountain Sports Center (Nordic) in Bozeman, Montana. The National Collegiate Men’s and Women’s Skiing Committee made the difficult decision to relocate the finals owing to a lack of snow in Bozeman. The Division I Cabinet Subcommittee authorized the new host site.
Committee members believe that changing locations offers the highest level of competition for student-athletes. The committee also prioritized keeping the championship competition sites close together so that participants could support their teammates and the championship throughout.
“The NCAA Championships are the premier event of the year for our skiing student-athletes, and while we are unable to compete in Montana as we had planned, the skiing committee is very appreciative for all the efforts that Montana State University has made to prepare for a successful championship,” said Jim Dwyer, committee chair and director of skiing and head coach of Alpine skiing at Dartmouth. “The unprecedented lack of snow has forced the championships to Utah, where we are confident that we will have the championship event that we have become accustomed to having. I want to thank both Montana State and the University of Utah for their efforts as we navigate this change of venue.”
The move has no bearing on Utah’s prior announcement that it will host the 2028 National Collegiate Skiing Championships.
