Top 16 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Teams Revealed by Selection Committee

On Sunday, October 19, during the Louisville vs. Pitt match, the NCAA DI women’s volleyball committee revealed its in-season top-16 rankings.

The rankings took into account every match played up until Saturday, October 18.

  7. Arizona State
  8. Purdue
  9. TCU
  10. Creighton
  11. Stanford
  12. Wisconsin
  13. Texas A&M
  14. Indiana
  15. Penn State
  16. Minnesota

This is the second year that 16 teams are included in the in-season rankings. Only the top 10 were made public before to 2024. When rating the 64 teams, the committee took consideration of a number of variables such as head-to-head competition, top-10 wins, and schedule strength.

Ahead of Selection Sunday on November 30, the in-season revelation gives fans a sneak peek at possible NCAA tournament seedings.

The T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, will host the semifinals and finals of the 2025 DI women’s volleyball tournament on December 18 and 21. On Thursday, December 18, the first semifinal match is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. ET, and the second match will begin 30 minutes after the first one ends. The national championship is scheduled for Sunday, December 21 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
