The White Lotus Season 4 Casts Sandra Bernhard in Surprise Role

Sandra Bernhard has begun watching “The White Lotus” Season 4.

The “Severance” and “Marty Supreme” actor joins previously revealed cast members Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, and AJ Michalka in the France-set edition of the HBO holiday dramedy.

Bernard’s role is unclear. Additional casting has yet to be confirmed as creator Mike White completes his Season 4 ensemble.

As source reported in January, Season 4 of “The White Lotus” will be shot mostly at the Château de La Messardière, a 19th-century palace-turned-luxury hotel in Saint-Tropez on the Côte d’Azur. (This is the first season to be held at a non-Four Seasons resort.) According to Variety, the drama will take place on the French Riviera and in Paris, with the Cannes Film Festival possibly being included.

Along with David Bernad and Mark Kamine, White serves as executive producer for “The White Lotus”. The series, which has previously taken place in Hawaii, Italy, and Thailand, has won 16 Emmy Awards and had 66 nominations.

Bernhard has over 100 acting credits and is most recognized for her roles in “The King of Comedy,” “Hudson Hawk,” and “Without You I’m Nothing.” She also played Nancy Bartlett Thomas on the ABC sitcom “Roseanne” and Nurse Judy Kubrak in Ryan Murphy’s FX series “Pose.” Her most recent credits include the Timothée Chalamet Oscar vehicle “Marty Supreme” and the Apple TV series “Severance,” in which she played a frightening scientist in the last episodes of Season 2.
