Three new features that should make listening to and interacting with podcasts a little easier are being added to Spotify’s app. Initially, the streaming service is adding a Following feed to the Home screen’s main Podcasts section.
You can quickly view what’s new from the shows you subscribe to using this toggle. Removing the need to seek for new content from podcasts you follow is the company’s stated goal, and it promises to “continue to explore new ways to make this space even better.” Additionally, Spotify will begin to show podcast recommendations, along with a description of the algorithm’s reasoning, directly below shortcuts on the Home screen.
Spotify intends to provide a “In this episode” section for podcast pages after that. Links to other shows, songs, audiobooks, playlists, and other content that hosts mention or suggest can be found here. You won’t have to search for those goods later because creators will be able to link them however they see suitable.
Finally, the business is making minor updates to podcast comments. Spotify has introduced emoji comments and threaded replies for creators in response to user demand. All of this will still be managed through Spotify for Creators, where they can also decide whether or not comments are allowed for their program or single episodes.
