The Winnipeg Jets welcomed the Dallas Stars on Wednesday night to begin the final game of the NHL’s Stanley Cup playoffs’ second round. After rallying to win Game 7 in the first round, the top clubs in the Central Division advanced.
The Washington Capitals vs. Carolina Hurricanes, the Toronto Maple Leafs vs. defending champion Florida Panthers, and the Vegas Golden Knights vs. Edmonton Oilers are the other series.
The series between Florida and Toronto and Edmonton and Vegas are rematches of the 2023 meetings that the Panthers and Golden Knights won before their eventual Stanley Cup Final meeting. There has never been a playoff matchup between the Jets and Stars, and the Hurricanes defeated the Capitals in 2019.
