The NASCAR Xfinity Series has three races left in the regular season, but the Wawa 250 on Friday night at Daytona International Speedway is the last opportunity for a rookie driver to earn a postseason ticket.

This is due to the nature of NASCAR’s superspeedway racing, where pack racing and significant collisions may abruptly alter the course of a race. The summer night race has been a bit more of a crapshoot, even though drivers from Richard Childress Racing have won the track’s last four season openers. In 2022, Jeremy Clements won here, one of only two victories in Clements’ career in 520 Xfinity Series starts.
After buying the owner’s points from Our Motorsports, Alpha Prime Racing is fielding Caesar Bacarella in the No. 5 car, and Justin Haley is back at Kaulig Racing in the No. 11. Haley has previously won here for the team.
Josh Williams in the Alpha Prime Racing No. 45, Rajah Caruth in the Jordan Anderson Racing No. 32, and Aric Almirola in the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 19 are further part-time drivers to keep an eye on.
