In South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, the Little League Baseball World Series is scheduled to start on Wednesday, August 13, and go through Sunday, August 24. One of the most eagerly awaited young athletic events of the year, the competition has been held every year since 1947.
Lake Mary, the LLBWS champion from the previous year, lost to Irmo, South Carolina, in their regional final. This implies that out of the 20 teams that will travel to Pennsylvania in 2025, a new champion will emerge.
Ten teams from the United States and ten teams from other countries are competing in the event. On Saturday, August 21, ABC will broadcast the U.S. championship and the worldwide championship. The U.S. game will start at 3:30 p.m. ET, while the international game will start at 12:30 p.m. ET.
On August 24, the LLBWS championship game will begin at 3 p.m. ET on ABC, while the consolation game will begin at 10 a.m. ET on ESPN2.
The work of the Little League World Series
Double-elimination brackets are used in the Little League World Series. Every team that loses once will have another chance to compete until the final games, but a club that loses twice is out of the running. There will be a winner-take-all format for the LLBWS, international, and U.S. championship games.
A seventh inning, played in the same manner as the previous ones, is added if the score is tied after the game’s six innings. Each team will start their half of the inning with a runner on second base if the game is still tied after seven innings.
Every participant must be between the ages of 10 and 12.
