Here’s a recent MLB story
The day after Alex Rodriguez announced his retirement, Aaron Judge hit his first home run in MLB. Now, the two are tied for the most home runs in Yankees history.
Judge launched his 351st career home run in a 4-2 victory over the Braves on Sunday, tying him with A-Rod for sixth place in Yankees history.
“Just an incredible honor, especially, you know, growing up watching A-Rod for so many years and watching what he did in pinstripes,” Judge told reporters. “He is a legend.” “One of the best ever players.”
Trials of judges Babe Ruth (659), Mickey Mantle (536), Lou Gehrig (493), Joe DiMaggio (361) and Yogi Berra (358) are Yankee greats with the most career home runs for New York.
On Sunday, Judge homered for the 36th time this season. He is two games behind MLB leader Cal Raleigh of the Mariners, who won the Home Run Derby in Atlanta on Monday.
Judge gave the Yankees a 1-0 lead in the first inning with a solo blast to right field that went 409 feet against Grant Holmes. It was his seventh home run in the last 17 games.
The Yankees will play a three-game series in Toronto against the AL East’s leading Blue Jays beginning Monday.
