Launched on August 6, 2025, during the height of tomato harvest season, this novel drink blends Heinz Simply Ketchup (made with just seven natural ingredients) alongside açai sorbet, apple juice, strawberries, and raspberries. The result: a savory-sweet beverage with a bright fruit-forward taste finishing with a tangy tomato note.

This isn’t just a playful experiment—it’s the product of months of research and testing. Smoothie King’s VP of R&D, Lori Primavera, emphasized the goal was a balanced “savory-sweet blend that celebrates the tomato in all its glory.” Meanwhile, Angie Madigan from Heinz called it “provocative,” aiming for distinct yet balanced ketchup notes.

The smoothie respects both brands’ commitment to quality: Heinz’s ketchup contains no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives, and Smoothie King adheres to its Clean Blends promise, which bans over 70–75 ingredients from its smoothies.
