The most valuable real estate owned by Alphabet is the Google Doodle, which the company used Tuesday to advertise “AI Mode,” its newest AI search tool.
Google’s home page and landing pages for the Chrome browser both included an animated picture that, when clicked, directs users to AI Mode, the company’s newest search product. There is a share button on the doodle image as well.
In response to criticism from artificial intelligence companies, Google is attempting to introduce its newest AI features to a wider audience by promoting AI Mode on the Google Doodle. OpenAI, which produces ChatGPT, Anthropic, which produces Claude, and Perplexity AI, which markets itself as a “AI-powered answer engine,” are examples of this.
Unlike regular Google Doodles, which “celebrate history and culture,” the AI Mode’s placement on the company’s homepage is “just a fun promo,” according to a Google representative.
Google’s chatbot-like solution for complex consumer inquiries is called AI Mode. In March, the business started showing AI Mode next to its search results page.
When seen from the home page, the product description says, “Search whatever’s on your mind and get AI-powered responses.”
Since its launch, more American users have been able to access AI Mode, which is powered by Google’s main AI model Gemini. Users can use voice, text, or graphics to ask searches in AI Mode. AI Mode, according to Google, makes it simpler to locate solutions to complex queries that could have previously required several searches.
Google replaced the “I’m Feeling Lucky” widget, which is a location where Google seldom makes modifications, with the AI Mode feature in May, right beneath the Google search bar.
