Google doodle celebrates Morocco’s Independence Day

Today’s Doodle honors the Independence Day of Morocco!

To honor the nation’s long struggle for independence, parades are held all around Morocco. Today’s Doodle is adorned with Moroccan flags, which have a green five-pointed star on a red background. Parade attendees are served traditional fare by street sellers, such as robust soups, couscous with meat and vegetables, and sweet fried pastries fashioned like roses for dessert.

At home, family and friends get together and watch festivities on television. As night descends, the sky is illuminated by fireworks.
