The Voice is back for a new season, called The Voice: Battle of Champions, with new twists on the long-running singing competition series’ format.

Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Adam Levine, three fan favorites, will return as coaches for season 29. Each team will consist of 10 artists, and they will compete in four rounds to determine the Battle of Champions champion.

On February 2, the season 29 teaser was revealed, teasing several “super surprises,” including the return of CeeLo Green, who was a coach in the first three seasons, to select the All-Star Showdown winners.

“The landmark season will be infused with fast-paced, competitive elements, delivering a fresh twist on the format that raises the stakes for coaches and artists alike,” according to a statement from NBC.

There will also be an in-season all-star competition featuring performers from prior seasons. Green, the original Voice coach, will return to determine the winners of the All-Star Showdown.

The returning artists are Girl Named Tom (season 21), Jake Hoot (season 17), Maelyn Jarmon (season 16), Renzo (season 27), Javier Colon (season 1), and Jordan Smith (season 9).
