Here’s the official 2025-26 College Football Playoff bracket, which was unveiled on Sunday, December 7. In the opening game of the CFP, No. 8 Oklahoma hosts No. 9 Alabama at 8 p.m. ET on Friday, December 19.
Indiana is the number one seed. No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Georgia, and No. 4 Texas Tech all have byes to the quarterfinals.
2025-26 College Football Playoff Bracket
This bracket is based on the CFP selection committee’s final top 25 rankings for the season, released on Sunday, December 7.
The top 25 ranking does not always correspond to the playoff seed, as the five highest-ranked conference champions are automatically entered, even if they are placed behind other top 25 teams or not ranked at all.

The four highest-ranked teams, regardless of conference standing, receive first-round byes to the quarterfinals. These teams are highlighted in bold. The top five conference champions earn automatic invitations. All teams in the CFP bracket are italics.

The bracket is not re-seeded following rounds.
The four quarterfinal games are not played on campus, like in the first round. The Cotton Bowl, Orange Bowl, Rose Bowl, and Sugar Bowl will host the quarterfinals, which will be played on December 31 and January 1. The four highest-ranked teams will be assigned to one of these bowls based on both past bowl relationships and seeding.
The four quarterfinal winners will face off in the semifinals either the Fiesta Bowl or the Peach Bowl on January 8 and 9. If the seeding hold, No. 1 will play No. 4, and No. 2 will play No. 3. The two semifinal winners will play for the CFP national championship on Monday, January 19 in Miami.
