The Nobel Prize winners for this year, which is regarded as one of the most prestigious awards in the world, will be revealed starting on October 6.
Physics, chemistry, medicine, literature, peace, and economic sciences are the six fields in which the awards are given out.
The awards were created in the will of the late businessman and entrepreneur Alfred Nobel. Each year, they are given to people who “have conferred the greatest benefit to humankind.”
Every year, prizes are given out at a ceremony in December after winners are revealed in October. This year, the award ceremony will be held on December 10 and the decisions will be broadcast from October 6–13.
Scientists Mary Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell, and Shimon Sakaguchi were named the 2025 Nobel Prize winners in Physiology or Medicine on Monday, October 6, for their work in immune system regulation.
