U.S. Open Golf 2025: Complete Prize Money List for Every Player

The purse for the 2025 U.S. Open is pausing its consistent growth seen in recent years, yet it still stands as the largest purse among all major championships at $21.5 million.

Since 2021, the U.S. Open purse has seen a remarkable increase from $12.5 million. It has nearly doubled, reaching $17.5 million in 2022, $20 million in 2023, and maintaining $21.5 million for both 2024 and 2025. This total purse is $1.5 million higher than the PGA Tour’s Signature Events, which feature $20 million purses. The Players Championship continues to hold the title for the richest purse in golf, totaling $25 million.

This year’s U.S. Open Champion will earn the same amount as the 2024 champion, Bryson DeChambeau, with a payout of $4.3 million. The runner-up will take home a substantial $2.322 million, while those finishing in third and fourth place will also earn over a million, with payouts of $1.459 million and $1.023 million, respectively.
