NCAA DII Softball Championship 2025: Full Bracket, Schedule & Selection Details

The selection show for the 2025 DII softball championship began on Monday, May 5 at 10 a.m. ET on NCAA.com.

Regionals for the 64-team championship field will begin on May 8 and the final rounds will take place at Frost Stadium at Warner Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee, from Thursday, May 22, to Wednesday, May 28.

First, there will be a double-elimination competition with four teams at each of 16 regional locations. Following regional competition, 16 teams will advance to eight sites for a two-team, best-of-three super regional. The eight super regional winners will advance to the finals. A best-of-three final series will decide the national champion.

History of Championship-

The University of Texas at Tyler (UT-Tyler) made history in 2024 by capturing its first NCAA DII softball national championship, defeating a strong field of competitors to claim the top spot. The victory marked a significant milestone for the program, which had consistently been among the national contenders in recent years.

The NCAA DII Softball Championship has showcased some of the most competitive programs across the country since its inception, with schools like North Georgia, West Texas A&M, and Augustana (SD) having previously earned national titles. The tournament format typically includes regional play leading to the championship finals, where eight teams battle for the crown in a double-elimination format.
