The NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Semifinals event has arrived.
The 2025 NCAA women’s gymnastics championship will be held in Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, over the next three days. The privilege to lift the national championship trophy will be contested by the final eight teams out of the 36-team competition.
The rest of the lineup is dominated by SEC teams, featuring five out of the eight squads from the conference known for its intensity. These include the top-seeded LSU, the second-seeded Oklahoma, the third-seeded Florida, the seventh-seeded Missouri, and the eleventh-seeded Alabama. Rounding out the competition are Utah, UCLA, and Michigan State, which hold the fourth, fifth, and eighth seeds, respectively.
For the third straight year, defending national champion LSU, led by Aleah Finnegan, Kailin Chio, and Lexi Zeiss, is back in the national semifinals. They hope to become the second consecutive national champions this decade, following Oklahoma, who won in 2022 and 2023. Additionally, the Sooners are making their first appearance at Dickies Arena as an SEC member and for the 21st consecutive season.
The only team not in the top eight of the NCAA women’s gymnastics competition that is vying for a spot in the national semifinals is Alabama. With a final score of 197.675, the Crimson Tide advanced with No. 3 Florida and finished second in the Tuscaloosa Regional Final, just a tenth of a point ahead of No. 6 seed Cal (197.575).
