World Liver Day 2022: Here are some tips for keeping your liver healthy

Every year on April 19th, World Liver Day is celebrated all over the world in order to raise awareness about liver diseases. The liver is the body’s second largest organ, and it serves a variety of functions. Failure to maintain a healthy liver might result in dangerous illnesses such as hepatitis.

The liver is responsible for a number of important tasks, including blood sugar balance, the removal of toxic chemicals from the body, the battle against infections and disease, cholesterol control, and so on.

To celebrate this day, here are a few liver-healthy tips:

Maintaining a healthy weight is a good idea-

You are at risk of developing a fatty liver if you are obese or even slightly overweight, which can progress to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). This is one of the most common liver diseases today.

Eat a healthy, well-balanced diet-

High-calorie meals, saturated fat, and refined carbohydrates such as white bread, white rice, ordinary pasta, and sweets are excluded.

It is important to exercise on a regular basis-

Exercise on a regular basis aids in the burning of triglycerides and can help to reduce liver fat.

Tobacco, alcohol, and drugs should all be avoided-

Drugs, alcohol, and smoke can all injure or kill liver cells. If you consume alcohol, do it in moderation to avoid developing medical problems.

Items for personal hygiene should not be shared-

Razors, toothbrushes, and nail clippers, for example, can be contaminated with blood or other human fluids at microscopic levels.

Make sure you’re up to date on your vaccinations-

Hepatitis A and B infections can be prevented by getting vaccinated.

You can properly protect our liver by putting these suggestions into practise.
