Women’s Rodeo World Championship 2025 Sets Record With $802K Prize Pool

The 2025 Women’s Rodeo World Championship (WRWC) will bring together hundreds of top female rodeo competitors from across the world in Fort Worth and Arlington, Texas, from May 11–14 and May 17. Gold buckles and the coveted title of World Champion are up for grabs at this year’s event, which sets a new high point for women’s rodeo with a record-breaking $802,000 in prize money on the line.

The WRWC, which will be broadcast exclusively on the Cowboy Channel, will show the talent, determination, and will of the sport’s best female athletes, showcasing their performances to a worldwide audience.

The WRWC and the Ariat Texas Rattlers of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Teams league will collaborate for the third consecutive year to honor outstanding achievements by Texas-based athletes. The highest-scoring Texas citizen in any one discipline will receive the Honorary Texas Rattlers Cowgirl Cash Bonus Award. Team Texas patches will be worn with pride by the recipients as they vie for the championship honors and the cash bonus.

The 2025 Women’s Rodeo World Championship kicks off in style on May 11 with the Tito’s Welcome Gala & Back Number Ceremony, presented by Cowgirl Magazine, hosted at Tannahill’s Tavern and Music Hall. This special evening honors the qualifying athletes and officially launches WRWC week. Fans can catch the celebration live on the Women’s Rodeo Championship Facebook page.

The competition heats up from May 12–14 at Cowtown Coliseum, where the first two rounds and Semi-Finals will take place across all events: breakaway roping, barrel racing, and team roping. Each day will feature a packed schedule of Pro, Challenger, and Limited divisions, culminating in nightly buckle ceremonies back at Tannahill’s, where the day’s top performers will be recognized.

A highlight on May 13 will be the Smarty Rodeo Goat Tying Showcase, shining a spotlight on the Top 20 athletes from the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) who have risen through the WRWC leaderboard ranks.

Championship titles will be awarded at the conclusion of the Semi-Finals. The 2025 Women’s Rodeo World Champions in each discipline will be determined by the highest total of world points accumulated from April 15, 2024, through May 14, 2025 — crowning a season of elite performance and fierce competition.

On May 17, the Championship Round lights up AT&T Stadium in Arlington during the PBR World Finals: Unleash The Beast – Championship, marking the exciting end of the 2025 Women’s Rodeo World Championship. The top six team roping duos and the top seven barrel racing and breakaway roping participants will compete in a high-stakes final to determine this year’s event winners in each discipline.

All tournament rounds at Cowtown Coliseum from May 12–14 are free and accessible to the public, allowing fans to witness every second of the WRWC action up close. Tickets for the Championship Round, which is one of the sport’s most spectacular stages, are currently on sale at PBRWorldFinals.com, SeatGeek.com, or by calling (800) 732-1727.

As part of their ongoing collaboration, WRWC has partnered with the PBR Team Series once more to raise awareness of the event and honor the achievements of top female athletes in western sports.

For the 2025 WRWC, The Cowboy Channel will once again be the sole broadcast partner, providing in-depth LIVE coverage on May 11–14 and May 17. Fans will enjoy insightful post-show portions with expert breakdowns, exclusive interviews with the newly crowned winners, and footage of the most memorable moments from the WRWC stage, as well as exciting pre-show programming that spotlights the key matches and championship contenders.
