The American tennis player has advanced to the Wimbledon men’s draw quarterfinals, where he will face Russian player Karen Khachanov for a chance to advance to the semifinals.

Fritz, ranked 5th in the world, has been more dominant in the last two rounds after winning his first two matches in five sets apiece. In the third round, he defeated Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the 26th seed, in four sets. In the fourth round, he defeated Australia’s Jordan Thompson in just forty-one minutes after the latter retired with an injury after falling behind 3-0 in the second set (and after losing the opening set 6-1).

Fritz went to the quarterfinals this year for the third time since 2022, but he did not make it to the semifinals in the first two years.
