Where Will College GameDay Be in Week 1 of 2025 Season?

Where Will College GameDay Be in Week 1 of 2025 Season?

The return of college football has arrived. And that means ESPN’s College GameDay is back.

To kick off the season and honor the last episode of renowned analyst Lee Corso, the GameDay team will return to the desk. With two contests in the top ten for Saturday of Week 1, ESPN had a difficult decision to make. Texas vs. Ohio State, No. 1, and No. 4 Clemson vs. No. 9 LSU at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina, are scheduled.

They choose to attend the school that is the current College Football Playoff champions and has the most appearances on College GameDay in history. Fans get to host one of the most anticipated College GameDay events ever, so hopefully the Buckeyes are prepared.

Here is all the information you require regarding ESPN’s Week 1 College GameDay show, which honors Corso’s extraordinary run:

Where Is College GameDay Week 1?

The Week 1 matchup between No. 1 Texas and No. 3 Ohio State will bring College GameDay to Columbus, Ohio, according to ESPN. Week 1 of this season will also be Corso’s last broadcast, as he revealed earlier this year. The hosts will honor his last broadcast.

Analysts Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, and Nick Saban will join host Rece Davis at the desk. The show will start at 9 a.m. ET on ESPN and conclude at noon when the Buckeyes and Longhorns kick off at Ohio Stadium (the game will be televised on Fox). With 67 College GameDay broadcasts, Ohio State leads all programs in this category. With 60, Alabama is the closest, followed by Florida (42). According to ESPN, the Buckeyes also have the most victories with 40 GameDay attendance.

Who Is the Guest Picker for College GameDay Week 1?

The guest selection for the Week 1 College GameDay broadcast in Columbus has not yet been revealed by ESPN. The guest selector typically represents the host team, but given Corso’s most recent performance, ESPN might depart from the norm. A.J. Hawk, C.J. Stroud, Garrett Wilson, Joe Burrow, and possibly even LeBron James are some possibilities who have ties to Ohio State. Naturally, Herbstreit, a quarterback from 1989 to 1993, will already have some representation on the Buckeyes’ desk. Given this, it’s possible that we’ll see someone with Longhorns connections, such as Bijan Robinson, Vince Young, or Matthew McConaughey. Even Corso’s family may receive the call for his farewell performance.

Will Lee Corso Play in Week One of College GameDay?

Before Ohio State and Texas in Week 1, Corso will be on the desk for College GameDay. The 90-year-old said earlier this year that this special broadcast would be his last performance. Prior to Week Zero action last Saturday, the show had already released a special tribute to Corso. It was filled with heartfelt remarks and ended with Herbstreit sobbing as he struggled through his speech. There will surely be a ton of tributes during the spectacular performance at Ohio Stadium. And Corso’s last choice won’t be missed after almost 30 years of headgear selections.
