The event typically begins at about 7 or 8 p.m. Central European time, which is equivalent to 1 or 2 p.m. Eastern Time, though the exact start time has not yet been disclosed.

When are the nominees for the 2025 Ballon d’Or announced?

The France Football Commission gathered at the Hotel de Crillon in Paris and has already selected the 2025 Ballon d’Or nominees.

On August 7, the names in the running for all of the gala’s prizes, including the men’s and women’s Ballon d’Or trophies, will be revealed. This year, France Football has decided to announce each award’s nominees at a specific time:

12:30 p.m.: Women’s Kopa Trophy
12:45 p.m.: Men’s Kopa Trophy
1 p.m.: Women’s Yashin Trophy
1:15 p.m.: Men’s Yashin Trophy
1:30 p.m.: Women’s Cruyff Trophy
1:45 p.m.: Men’s Cruyff Trophy
2 p.m.: Best women’s club
2:15 p.m.: Best men’s club
3 p.m.: Women’s Ballon d’Or
3:15 p.m.: Men’s Ballon d’Or

Ousmane Dembele, Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, Mohamed Salah, and Kylian Mbappe are the front-runners for the men’s prize. At the top European clubs, all five of those players had outstanding seasons.
