Shark Week 2025 Discovery Channel highlights

A little over a year has passed, but Shark Week is returning! Hours upon hours of shark-related content are featured over the seven-day Discovery Channel event. The event will be available to watch live on Philo (free trial) or DIRECTV (free trial) starting on Sunday, July 20.

Although there isn’t an official host for this year yet, former “Dancing with the Stars” host Tom Bergeron will be present to help kick off the event as part of “Dancing with Sharks,” the opening special of Shark Week.

Compared to prior years, Shark Week in 2025 has significantly reduced its programming, with only 20 specials this year. With the exception of Saturday, July 26, when there will only be two specials, the events will be released every night beginning at 8 p.m. and ending by 11 p.m.
