Texas has advanced to the Women’s College World Series final series for the third time in four years.
After the Sooners tied the game 2-2 in the top of the seventh on a home run with two outs and a 0-2 count, the Longhorns will take face sensation NiJaree Canady and No. 12 Texas Tech, who defeated No. 2 Oklahoma 3-2 on Monday night in a walk-off scenario.
Texas defeated Tennessee 2-0 on Monday afternoon, thanks to a combined masterpiece from Mac Morgan and Teagan Kavan against the Vols. Tennessee’s Karlyn Pickens played the entire game, but the difference was subsequently determined by a solo home run and an insurance run off an error.
Oklahoma’s four-game national championship streak came to a stop this season when the Red Raiders hosted and won a regional for the first time in school history. The Sooners also missed out on a national title spot for the first time since 2018.

Texas advanced to the WCWS championship series after defeating Tennessee on Monday afternoon and Texas Tech defeating Oklahoma on Monday evening. Since 2004 (UCLA vs. California), this is the first intrastate matchup in the WCWS Finals.
