The 2025 tournament runs from August 24 to September 7, and the action has now reached the semifinal stage with plenty of drama, upsets, and excitement leading into the final weekend.

Women’s Semifinals

The women’s draw featured matchups between Naomi Osaka vs. Amanda Anisimova and Aryna Sabalenka vs. Jessica Pegula.

In Thursday night’s first semifinal, No. 4 Jessica Pegula stunned the crowd by taking the opening set, 6-4, against top seed Aryna Sabalenka. The defending champion responded strongly, breaking early in the second set and cruising to even the match. The deciding set was far more competitive, but Sabalenka’s grit carried her through as she secured her place in Saturday’s final.

Sabalenka now awaits the winner of the clash between two-time US Open champion Naomi Osaka (No. 23) and No. 8 Amanda Anisimova. Osaka earned her spot in the semis by defeating 2023 champion Coco Gauff (No. 3) in straight sets and then overpowering No. 11 Karolina Muchova in the quarterfinals. Anisimova advanced after taking down No. 2 Iga Swiatek in straight sets, avenging her earlier Wimbledon defeat against the same opponent.

Men’s Semifinals

On the men’s side, Friday will see another high-profile battle as No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz meets No. 7 Novak Djokovic.

Djokovic, who struggled through the opening week, found his rhythm on Sunday and carried the momentum into Tuesday’s quarterfinals, where he eliminated No. 4 Taylor Fritz, the last remaining American in the men’s draw, in four sets. Alcaraz powered past No. 20 Jiri Lehecka in dominant fashion to book his semifinal place.

The other semifinal features No. 1 Jannik Sinner against No. 25 Felix Auger-Aliassime. Sinner reached the last four after defeating fellow Italian No. 10 Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets on Wednesday night. Auger-Aliassime earned his semifinal berth earlier that day, ousting No. 8 Alex de Minaur in four sets.
