‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Trailer shows off Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher

Thor returns to the big screen with Mjölnir in hand and some pals at his side in “Thor: Love and Thunder,” which hits theatres on July 8. During Game 4 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, the entire trailer debuted, revealing Christian Bale as the film’s villain Gorr the God Butcher for the first time.

The Marvel film, directed by Taika Waititi, is the follow-up to 2017’s “Thor: Ragnarok,” and marks Thor’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after “Avengers: Endgame” in 2019. T

essa Thompson plays Valkyrie, Chris Pratt plays Star-Lord, Waititi plays Korg, and Natalie Portman plays Jane Foster, in her first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2013’s “Thor: The Dark World.”

Thor tries to find inner peace with the fall of Asgard and the events of “Endgame,” but is thwarted by the threat of Gorr extinguishing the gods.

Thor enlists the support of Korg, Valkyrie, and Foster in his mission, as well as the Guardians of the Galaxy, which feature Bradley Cooper’s Rocket Raccoon, as well as Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, and Karen Gillan reprising their roles.

In 2020, Portman said that the film will see Foster fighting cancer in her human form while while wielding Mjölnir as the Mighty Thor. Waititi has described the picture as “the craziest thing I’ve ever done,” implying that it will have several fan favourites as well as a love story.

Waititi and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson wrote the film’s script, which is based on Stan Lee and Jason Aaron’s comics. Kevin Feige produces “Thor: Love and Thunder,” with Victoria Alonso, Louis D’Esposito, and Todd Hallowell serving as executive producers.
