St. Ignatius
In the ice hockey state semifinals, the Wildcats defeated Toledo St. Francis de Sales 3-2 in overtime, setting them up for their ninth state title. With the game-winning goal from Nolan Ignacio, St. Ignatius defeated the Knights for the fifth time in a row in the Final Four. Intriguingly, the Knights had defeated St. Ignatius in overtime in the regular season, which made this playoff matchup even more intense.
Upper Arlington
In the state playoffs, the Bears overcame a two-goal deficit early on to defeat the Mentor Cardinals 7-2. Upper Arlington’s incredible four-goal surge in the first five minutes of the period sparked their comeback. Mentor only gathered 17 attempts on target while the Bears dominated with an impressive 51. They now aim to win the state title, the ultimate prize.
