To earn a spot at the Women’s College World Series, let’s re-rank the 16 teams that are still in the running for the super regionals.
I think this is a way to take their initial seedings and modify them according on their regional performance.
1. Oklahoma (No. 2 seed)
The top-seeded Texas A&M was eliminated, and Oklahoma is now ranked first. With just the insane combination of Kasidi Pickering and Ella Parker, who have experience playing in the postseason, the offense is actually what most impressed me right now.
2. Arkansas (No. 4 seed)
The Razorbacks delivered a flawless 3–0 regional performance, capped by a commanding 12–0 win over Oklahoma State. Arkansas didn’t even need offensive production from Bri Ellis in the final, as the team’s pitching and depth proved elite.
3. UCLA (No. 9 seed)
UCLA surged in the rankings after dominating its regional with three run-rule victories, surrendering just two runs all weekend. With power hitters Jordan Woolery and Megan Grant leading the charge, the Bruins are positioned to contend with any opponent.
4. Florida (No. 3 seed)
The Gators remained undefeated in regional action, led by Taylor Shumaker’s breakout performance. While the pitching staff allowed six runs to Florida Atlantic, Florida’s offense looked formidable and picked up the slack when it mattered.
5. Texas (No. 6 seed)
Texas impressed throughout the weekend, highlighted by a 16-run explosion against Michigan and a shutout of UCF behind Teagan Kavan’s stellar pitching. The Longhorns look poised for a deep run.
6. Tennessee (No. 7 seed)
Tennessee handled a power-heavy regional with precision. The Vols’ pitching silenced Ohio State’s top-ranked home run offense, and their own bats came alive behind standout Karlyn Pickens and a disciplined lineup.
7. Florida State (No. 5 seed)
Despite a hiccup against Auburn, the Seminoles rebounded with a shutout in the elimination game. Florida State remains dangerous with experienced hitters like Michaela Edenfield stepping up in critical moments.
8. Texas Tech (No. 12 seed)
The Red Raiders are surging offensively and benefit from having NiJaree Canady in the circle. While Canady faced challenges against Mississippi State, the lineup provided enough run support to advance with confidence.
9. Nebraska (Unseeded)
Jordy Bahl put on one of the weekend’s most memorable performances, reaching base in every plate appearance and launching four home runs. Backed by Ava Kuszak and a resilient squad, Nebraska has serious momentum heading into Supers.
10. South Carolina (No. 8 seed)
The Gamecocks drop slightly despite sweeping their regional. While the offense found its rhythm later, Sam Gress anchored the pitching staff in a consistent — if not dominant — overall showing.
11. Clemson (No. 11 seed)
Clemson held steady after a 3–0 weekend. However, close calls — including an extra-inning thriller against Northwestern — reveal areas that need fine-tuning. The Tigers’ grit remains a defining trait.
12. Alabama (No. 15 seed)
Alabama jumps up after navigating a tough regional, defeating a Virginia Tech team featuring elite talent. The Crimson Tide’s pitching stepped up in big moments, but their offense must match Oklahoma’s firepower in the next round.
13. Oregon (No. 16 seed)
The Ducks showed tremendous tenacity by defeating Stanford in back-to-back games, including a walk-off win from Dez Patmon. Their resolve and ability to produce clutch performances could be key moving forward.
14. Liberty (Unseeded)
The Flames made history by eliminating top-seeded Texas A&M in College Station. Rachel Roupe led the charge, and the team’s ability to respond under pressure demonstrated Liberty’s high postseason ceiling.
15. Ole Miss (Unseeded)
Ole Miss stayed hot from the SEC Tournament, knocking off Arizona behind an 11-home-run weekend. While Arkansas poses a stiff challenge, the Rebels already hold a series win against them this season.
16. Georgia (No. 16 seed)
Georgia rounds out the rankings after upsetting Duke in extra innings. The Bulldogs’ veteran roster — appearing in their third consecutive Super Regionals — now faces SEC rival Florida in a high-stakes showdown.
