NCAA Drops Official 2027 Women’s Final Four Logo for Columbus Event

2027 Women’s Final Four Logo

The 2027 NCAA Women’s Final Four logo, which highlights historic characteristics and colors associated with Columbus, Ohio, has been unveiled.

For the second time, Columbus will host the Women’s Final Four, with Ohio State and the Greater Columbus Sports Commission serving as co-hosts at Nationwide Arena. The two national semifinals will take place on Friday, April 2, and the national championship game will be played on Sunday, April 4. Columbus previously hosted Women’s Final Four fans in 2018, with both national semifinal games going to overtime and a national championship game won by a buzzer-beater. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish, led by 2018 Most Outstanding Player Arike Ogunbowale, won their second national championship, with Ogunbowale hitting the winning shot in both games.

“Columbus has been the backdrop to many special NCAA championship moments over the years, including a thrilling Women’s Final Four in 2018,” said Lynn Holzman, NCAA vice president of women’s basketball. “Our hosts and partners, Ohio State and the Greater Columbus Sports Commission, have played an integral role in elevating the championship to deliver an exceptional experience for student-athletes, coaches and fans.”

“Hosting the Women’s Final Four in Columbus is a win for all involved,” said Ross Bjork, senior vice president and athletics director at Ohio State. “The partnership between Ohio State, the Greater Columbus Sports Commission and Nationwide Arena, among others, will make this a premier event that will also serve as a way to shine a spotlight on our great city and a sport that is rapidly growing in popularity. We have a long history of putting on first-class events in Columbus, and this will be no exception.”

The 2027 Women’s Final Four logo, designed by Section 127 in Indianapolis, pays respect to the city. The logo’s usage of blue and yellow stands out against the black and chrome, reminiscent of the Columbus flag. The holding form and arch at the top of the logo refer to the Columbus streetcar arches, which earned the city the nickname “Arch City.” The bottom arch, which bears the city name, was inspired by the famous steel arches of the Short North neighborhood. Finally, the brackets and national championship trophy represent each team’s tireless pursuit, determination, and achievement on their journey to a national championship.

“We are thrilled to officially begin the countdown to the 2027 NCAA Women’s Final Four, one of the biggest weekends in women’s sports,” said Linda Logan, CEO and president of the Greater Columbus Sports Commission. “Columbus last hosted the championship event in 2018, and we can’t wait to roll out the red carpet to fans and student-athletes once again. From new community-wide celebrations of girls and women in sports to elevated student-athlete fan experiences, we look forward to showcasing all that’s new in Columbus and why we’re a top sports city.”

More information on ticket packages for the 2027 Women’s Final Four will be made available following the conclusion of the 2026 Women’s Final Four, which will take place in Phoenix on April 3 and 5.
