2025 NCAA DI Women’s Lacrosse Committee

The 29 teams that will compete in the 2025 NCAA DI women’s lacrosse championship have been chosen by the NCAA DI Women’s Lacrosse Committee.

After going 18-0 and winning the Atlantic Coast Conference for the eighth time in program history, North Carolina was chosen as the overall No. 1 seed. The Tar Heels, who have the highest scoring margin in the country at 10.83 goals per game, are still the only team in DI that has not lost.

Boston College, the reigning national champion, was awarded the second seed in the field, while Northwestern, with a 16-2 record, is the third seed going into the event. Florida, who won the first-ever Big 12 women’s lacrosse championship, completes the top four seeding.

On May 9, the tournament’s opening round matches start. On Friday, May 9, and Sunday, May 11, eight locations will host the first and second round of competition; on Thursday, May 15, four quarterfinal matches will take place. Games in the first and second rounds will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and will take place on the campuses of the competing institutions. On ESPNU, the quarterfinals will be shown live.

Harvard is hosting the national semifinals at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, and the victor of the four quarterfinal matches will go there.

On Friday, May 23, at 3 and 5:30 p.m. Eastern time, ESPNU will broadcast live coverage of the semifinal matches. ESPN will broadcast the championship game live on Sunday, May 25 at noon. Online ticket sales for the national championship game and semifinals are available at www.ncaa.com/tickets.
